Want more traffic? Then you need an RSS news feed.

What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other web content. Think of it as a distributable "What's New" for your site.

hvacindia.com now offers RSS (Really Simple Syndication) in XML format "HVAC News" as a consolidated feed of most of our content areas. The content within each of these RSS feeds contains story headlines and brief descriptions. Each headline links directly to full story on hvacindia.com.

These feeds are available for use by any Web site provided that no content is published full-text or altered in any way. We also require that this content be clearly attributed to hvacindia.com. Additionally, hvacindia.com maintains the right to require that use of our RSS feeds be stopped at any time for any reason upon notification from hvacindia.com.

The "HVACIndia News" consolidated RSS feed is:

How to add the HVAC News feed to your website, and get automatically updated content!

The "HVAC News" consolidated RSS feed is:http://www.hvacindia.org.in/dasblogce/default.aspx

Using Javascript to Display RSS

Javascript is the easiest way to display RSS feeds on a website. There are a number of sites that will allow you to generate code that can be inserted into a website. The javascript will auto-update, showing the latest headlines as the feed is updated. Each time a visitor visits the website the javascript pulls the data from the feed.

RSS is an XML-based format of lists of hyperlinks that can be syndicated.

To enable this, a Web site will make an RSS feed, or channel, available, just like any other file or resource on the server. Once a feed is available, computers can regularly fetch the file to get the most recent items on the list. Most often, people will do this with a reader (aggregator), a program that manages a number of lists and presents them in a single interface.

To get the latest HVAC News on your desktop, autonmatically updated at regular intervals,

Download and install RSSreader, which is a free download, from: http://www.rssreader.com

Or, here is another; Feedreader, which has a lot of RSS feeds already in it: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/feedreader/FeedReader290Setup.exe?download

Then, click "add" and insert his feed: http://www.ishrae.in/DasBlogce/SyndicationService.asmx/GetRss

Complete the wizard.

You have updated ISHRAE News on your desktop!

(Check out the "options" tag for updation settings, etc).

You could similarly add other feeds, and there are a whole lot of them.

Do let us know how you found ISHRAE News. Was it useful to you?
