Ishrae Chennai Chapter formally launched Refresher course series on 8.9.2007. The first session was formally inaugurated by Mr N.Ramamurthy, Past President Chennai Chapter and Chairman of Ishrae foundation trust. Regional Director Mr C.Stephen Presided over the inaugural event. The Topic for First Course was Psychrometrics by Mr V.Sridhar, HVAC Consultant and President Elect Ishrae Chennai chapter. The number of participants was restricted to 15 to provide interactive sessions. As the registration outnumbered the number of seats available, it is planned to repeat the programme on 22.9.2007. Future planned topics are on Heat load on 6.10.2007 & 13.10.2007.
I am pleased to write this mail to you all about the launch of sub chapter at Indore. It is indeed remarkable that it looks just less than 3 weeks to activate this sub chapter and finally on May 23, 2007 the Indore sub chapter was launched. It was a collective effort of Mr. Ashish Shah – President and Mr. Nitin Karnik – Secretary from Ahmedabad chapter and Mr. Navneet Pandya, now president and Mr. Suresh Chouhan now Secretary of Indore sub chapter. The function was held at Hotel Sayaji and 56 people attended this function. We already have 36 paid members as on date and expect membership to cross 60 in couple of weeks. ISHRAE Ahmedabad Chapter is celebrating its Silver Jubille Celebrations along with the launch of ACREX 2008, (to be held in Bangalore), on Sunday, the 4th of February 2007 from 6.00pm to 9.00 pm at GLS Auditorium, Opp Law Garden, Ahemedabad - 380 006. Along with the celebrations, the Baroda Sub-Chapter shall also be installed, and the Ahmedabad sub-directory shall be released.
The Jaipur Chapter was installed on the 6th of January, 2007 by Mr Pankaj Dharkar (President Elect - ISHRAE HQ). Mr Mukund Goyal of the Goyal Group of Comapnies was the Chief Guest. Also present were Mr Sushil Chaudhury (RD North), Mr Amit Goel (President, Delhi Chapter) along with a host of Delhi CWC Members. Prof A K Saluja and Mr V K Seth of the IERF along with a host of other dignitaries from Jaipur made the evening a memorable one. There were over 150 participants including 25 student members. The current membership strength of Jaipur Chapter stands at 80 (regular) and 25 Student Members. Jaipur Chapter is the 11th Chapter in the ISHRAE Fold. The installation ceremony was followed by a presentation by HITACHI who sponsored the event along with AIMER Engineering Company. Mr Pradeep Sharma of AIMER was the person instrumental in promoting the formation of the Jaipur Chapter and also in organizing the evening program. Singh (right) ISHRAE Mumbai chapter conducted its Annual General Body Meeting recently, on 29th July 2006, at the Hotel Orchid in Mumbai. Some of the highlights of the meeting included the Presentation of the audited accounts for the Financial Year 2005-2006 by the treasurer Dr. S.V.K. Kotareddy. Kapil Purandare, the Secretary for the year 2006-07 then introduced the members of the Chapter Working Committee to all those who had attended the function. Mr Dilip Datey, the incoming President, gave a plaque to the outgoing President, Arvind Desai. Dilip Datey highlighted the activities he intended to pursue with vigour for this financial year, viz., Technical programs, Goa Tech Fest 2006, Seminars, the HLCP Project, and improving member fellowship. The efforts put in by Hiru Jhangiani in taking the ISHRAe Journal to new heights was appreciated by Dr S.V.K. Kotareddy on behalf of all members. Rajeev Kakkar gave a presentation on www.hvacindia.com, and members were encouraged to utilise the wealth of information available on the portal. Finally, an audio-visual presentation of of the Society's activities of ISHRAE Mumbai Chapter for the year 2006 was presented to the members. This was followed by a presentation my Surendra Shah on innovative energy saving techniques, and the meeting concluded with dinner. The Air conditioning and Refrigeration Journal feature articles on CD ROM, Part 2, was presented as a freebie to all those attended the Annual General Body Meeting.
ISHRAE Chandigarh, has been elevated from a Sub-Chapter status to full Chapter. The ceremony was held at the CII Auditorium in Chandigarh, on the 29th of July at 1900 HRS. The Chapter was chartered and the Office Bearers were administered the Oath of Office by Mr Satish Iyengar, Society President. Also present on the occasion were Mr G C Modgil (Society Past-President), who had initiated the move earlier to form a sub- chapter at Chandigarh almost a decade ago, Mr Pankaj Dharkar (Society President Elect) and a host of other senior members from Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. The Chandigarh Chapter, is the tenth Chapter of the Society. Mr Iyengar in his presidential address informed that plans are afoot to expand the presence of ISHRAE in other locations with Sub-Chapters to be chartered soon in several cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Patna and Coimbatore.It was only about a month ago that the Jaipur Sub-Chapter was also chartered. The present membership strength of the Chandigarh Chapter is eighty five. Mr P K Aggarwal, the President of this new Chapter has committed that he and his young team will endeavor to raise this strength to 150 within a year by garnering membership from it's rather large area which includes Haryana, Punjab. Himachal and J&K. The evening of July 29, 2006 will give you an excellent opportunity to meet all the CWC members as well as to exchange your ideas with other fellow members for the betterment of our Chapter. Mysore sub-chapter has embarked on a mission to publish a "Service Directory" that will cover distributers, dealers and service stations for Air-conditioning and Refrigeration systems in Mysore and the neighboring districts of Mandya, Chamarajnagar and Coorg. By providing this directory free to all industries in this region, the chapter hopes to be of service to the industry besides promoting ISHRAE in the region. Chapter contacts may be accessed here.

The CWC of the Mumbai chapter hosted a dinner party on 11th August 2005 in honor of Dr Prem C Jain on the occasion of his being awarded the “Louise and Bill Holladay Distinguished Fellow Award” by ASHRAE. Dr. Jain recieved the award in June 2005 in Denver, USA.
A BOG meeting was held in Goa on 27-08-2005 to coincide with TECHFEST 2005.
